Welcome to my (mainly) non-transport gallery.
This varied selection of images reflects a general interest in photography that waned some years ago but all my negatives and slides have been retained.
One wishes that others would take seemingly redundant collections as seriously but, sadly, that is often not the case. My personal interest is in archive negatives and colour slides depicting road (pre-1955) and rail (pre-1964) transport subjects. So, if you have such material that is no longer of interest to you or you've been the beneficiary of a will please don't send it to the council tip  - as the house clearers do -  but first consider contacting me via the 'Leave a message' box or the 'Comments' buttons.

Veerse Meer was a wonderful place for bird photography and I wonder if it's still so today. One could park one's car on the roadside verge right next to the water and photograph from the car window whilst the birsd simply took no notice. Here we see a ringed plover and what i think is a redshank only about 5m from the lens.

Goldfinch. ost of my years working in Uithoorn were spent in an office at the back of the mezzanine fl;oor but for a couple of summers I was at the front and the anticipated pleasure was the arrival of the goldfinches each spring. Photted from my open office window with a Canon AE1 + Tamron 500mm mirror lens on a a pile of books for stability.

"Brrr !!! It's cold," muttered the heron. Photographed on a bitingly cold and frosty November 8th 1982 near Uithoorn in the Netherlands.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this parade of oystercatchers walking sedately past my car window at Borsele in Zeeland.

One of the delights of living in Uithoorn (Noord Holland) was that, in most years, the summer brought a flock of spoonbills to a feeding ground only a five minute bike ride from my home. They were very skittish and hard to photograph as a result.
